Spring Lawn Care Tips

Spring is here and it’s a great time to take advantage of our social distancing equipment in your yard. Here are 10 tips on how to create the best lawn in your neighborhood.

Power Tools

Before moving into any yard work requiring your social distancing power tools it is important to make sure that they are in proper working order. Have your Husqvarna mower blades sharpened, charge batteries, and check fluid levels. If you need further help or even an upgrade visit our showroom to see the latest Husqvarna riding mowers, Husqvarna blowers and Husqvarna trimmers.

Weeds

Clear out the weeds before they get any bigger. Getting a head start on weeds means catching them before they are out of control.

Prune Trees

Pruning trees involve removing dead or dying limbs. Fruit trees require pruning in order to bear new fruit, while flowering trees need it to encourage new blooms. Make sure not to prune too early in the season or you can endanger the tree’s health. It is not recommended for stoned fruit trees to be pruned in the spring.

Rake It Up

With winter behind us you have probably noticed leaves or pine needles on the ground. Take some time and even make it a family affair. Rake up or use a leaf blower to remove the leaves and pine needles to have a clean looking lawn.

Soil

Loosening up the soil in your flowerbeds helps oxygen get into the soil and reach the roots of the plants. It also helps your planter area to look fresh and clean.

Edging

Don’t forget the edges. Trimming the edges of the lawn adds with a Husqvarna edger adds an extra detail and sharpness to help it stand out.

Bushes & Hedges

Hedges and bushes with leaves should be trimmed in early spring to help promote growth with one of our hedge and stick trimmers.

Aerate

Aerating punches holes into the lawn in order to add oxygen and nutrients to the soil while also allowing space for seeds to germinate.

Birds

Open up your home. Maybe not literally but put up a birdhouse to welcome the chirping of birds.

Mow the Lawn

One you see your lawn beginning to grow it’s time to pull out your mower or leave the work to your Husqvarna Automower®. Be careful not to cut your grass too short the first few times of the season. It is recommended that two to three inches makes a healthy and sustainable lawn.
